TRIO Upward Bound Instructor

Eastern Gateway Community College invites applications for instructors for the TRIO Upward Bound Program. Instructors will prepare lessons for 9th through 12th grade students for Saturday College academic days and for Summer Academy.

The program has been funded at EGCC since 2002 by a grant through the U.S. Department of Education. It is anticipated to be funded in the next five-year grant cycle through 2022. UB provides college preparation work and experiences for 66 high school students from five local target schools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• The TRIO Upward Bound instructor will prepare lessons appropriate for 9th through 12th grade students in the area in which they have been assigned.
• Instructors will offer the students enriching classroom activities and lessons according to the skill level of the students.
• The Instructor will maintain a positive attitude and support each student according to their abilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor’s degree and a teaching certification in the subject area chosen is required.
• Work Experience includes at least 3 years teaching experience in high school or college setting.
• Experience working with low income or first generation colleges students a plus.
