East Cooper Habitat for Humanity is Hiring a Director of Development Near Charleston, SC

JOB TITLE: Director of Development

JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for the design and implementation of programs that advance the fundraising and public relations goals of East Cooper Habitat for Humanity (ECHFH). This individual will be responsible for building relationships in the community with individuals, businesses, churches, organizations and foundations. Responsibilities also include event planning and production and review of all communications materials. Reports to Executive Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to design and implement development strategies.
  • Build relationships with current donors and prospects with activities to grow the donor base.
  • Participate in public speaking and outreach opportunities to share information about ECHFH’s goals and impact on the community.
  • Coordinate signature special events including but not limited to an annual fundraising gala, golf tournament, Oyster Roast, Playhouse Project and Women Build.
  • Identify, write and monitor grant requests for the affiliate.
  • Coordinate with Board Members and ED to provide support in their donor outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate and oversee direct donor mailings, appeal letters and newsletters as needed.
  • Provide and execute appropriate responses of thanks for all donations.
  • Oversee all administrative tasks associated with fundraising including donor data and relationships. This includes assuring that accurate donor records are maintained in Network for Good software.
  • Create press releases for major events and distribute to media outlets.
  • Maintain an archive of photos, publications and promotional materials.
  • Responsible for maintenance of the content of the affiliate website and social media outreach.
  • Working with the ED, strengthen collaboration efforts with other regional Habitat affiliates and with the Home Store.
  • Participate and support new home ground breaking, wall raising and dedication ceremonies.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as required to accomplish the goals of the position.
  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • Individual must possess exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in fundraising, marketing and public relations. Strong computer skills required, familiarity with Network for Good preferred. Prior experience in a non-profit preferred. A commitment to a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Schedule:
