Early Learning Development Center is Hiring an Assistant Teacher Near Seattle, WA

The Early Learning and Development Center is looking for a qualified, enthusiastic full time assistant teacher to join our awesome team of professional and committed teachers. We have great benefits, and staff longevity. We are a non-profit center serving children ages 12 months to 5 years old.

The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:15am to 5:15pm daily.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (some can be attained within first month of employment):

Must be at least 18 years of age – Possess a high school diploma/GED – AA/CDA/ECE preferred or working towards their AA or CDA, - Meet the Washington State Training and Registry (S.T.A.R.S) requirements of 30 hours

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES- Helping lead teachers manage a classroom of up to 18 children, School cleaning done daily, providing lunch, 10 and 15 minute breaks, engages with current and prospective parents and family members and is responsive to their needs with strong communication and listening skills, assists and accepts responsibility in other daily center duties that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available and attends and participates in all staff meetings and center events.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS – Possess an understanding of and be sensitive to the cultural, emotional, mental, physical, and social needs of young children, have the caring, compassionate, gentle, patient, loving attitude towards children. Positive and joyful attitude, energetic, playful and creative, be self-starter able to multi-task, and a team player who believes in providing top quality care.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – Work is primarily performed in the center environment, both indoor and outdoor environments, including regular prolonged outdoor activities in all weather conditions. Regular field trips to the library and other community venues are an important part to our culture. Able to fulfill the physical requirements of the work including- lift up to 40 pounds, stand up to 95% of the day, assume low level positions to best allow physical and visual contact with children, sustain a high level of energy, bend to perform various tasks numerous times throughout the day, stoop and sit on the floor, perform activities with children, i.e. jump, dance, walk, run etc. for extended periods of time

HOURS/COMPENSATION – Full time shift from 8:15am to 5:15pm, Monday through Friday. Wage will start at $21.00-$22.00 an hour depending on experience. Position include: Paid Holidays, Paid vacation, Orca card, Medical, dental and Vision insurance, Retirement plans. If you are interested please send your resume.
