A Day in the Life of a Purchasing Agent:

  • Work as part of a strong purchasing team, purchasing parts to fulfill customer orders.
  • Communicate with vendors and sales employees
  • Work in a schedule-driven environment; timing is a critical function to meet shipping deadlines
  • Create, issue, and change purchase orders as necessary
  • Process vendor shipments
  • Respond to numerous email and phone inquiries with quick and accurate data
  • Obtain pricing and availability from suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing
  • Order inventory (hardware & software)
  • Add and update parts and pricing in quoting and ordering applications
  • Confirm delivery of parts and equipment
  • Reconcile invoice discrepancies
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned by manager
Required Experience:


What Qualifications are Required?

  • Minimum of two years related experience
  • Knowledge of purchasing and standard office practices and procedures
  • Experience in Microsoft Office is required
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate percentages, whole numbers, and fractions
  • Ability to manage priorities, workflow, and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with changing priorities
  • Ability to work well as part of a strong team

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary (sitting) position for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to type and perform other computer-related work for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds when processing RMA’s

  • The compensation range is $60-70k DOE. This compensation includes both salary and bonuses.
