What We’re Looking For
The Director of Operations is responsible for the development and direction of new ventures requiring all aspects of the facility and process engineering. This person will also support the new technology applications and government compliance requirements of Eagle service offerings. This position requires face-to-face interactions with customers, regulatory inspectors, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
What You Will Do
• Provide the scientific and business leadership to ensure assigned departments performance meets the expectations of customers and business goals in terms of cost and quality and turn-around time
• Efficiency of analytical chemistry laboratories and cost-effective systems is a priority
• HVAC certification/design
• Manage multi-million-dollar budget
• Responsible for facilitating new construction and upgrades of the facility
• Assist with establishment of strategic vision, objectives and expansion
• Responsible for staff selection, development and performance management
• Identifies, communicates and drives implementation of capital investments and improvement projects
• Interface with executive team and other departments to assist with strategic initiatives
• Develop new policy and procedures for new methodologies
• Ensure the compliance with all DEA, FDA and Texas Department of Public Safety
• Ensure that department objectives are in line with corporate objectives
• Participate in original scientific presentations and publications
• Provide scientific training to sales and marketing functions
• 30% travel required
Who You Are
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or electrical engineering; MS preferred
• Ten years’ engineering experience (15 preferred)
• Five years of demonstrated knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) specific to Validation of Analytical methods
• Apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems.
• Manage the mechanical/electrical portions of engineering designs prepared by Architect-Engineer firms for various systems and facilities including ISO certified cleanrooms and HVAC systems
• Assure that facilities operate in a safe and appropriate manner and comply with all federal, state and local codes/regulations
• High level skills with computer applications and programs related to analytical laboratory management systems
• Knowledge of sampling methods and quality control systems
• Operational experience at a minimum with spectroscopic (UV-Vis, IR, MS) and chromatographic (LC & GC) systems
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience performing testing
• Advanced level computer skills
• Advanced technical degree, a plus
Certifications:
• PE preferred
