DESCRIPTION:
The Quality Floor Inspector will be responsible for supporting the daily activities of the Metals Assembly Production Department in all production floor activities related to manufacturing, training, in-process, and final quality inspections. The Quality Floor Inspector will perform inspections on a variety of purchased parts, internally manufactured parts, and finished product. The inspection criteria will be based upon blueprint specifications, quality check sheets, and departmental procedures to assure product quality. The Quality Floor Inspector will communicate with Team Leads, Line Leads, Operations Manager, and Quality Department Personnel to resolve quality and process related issues and work as a team toward immediate countermeasures and long-term corrective actions.
PRIMARY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The QUALITY FLOOR INSPECTOR’S primary responsibilities are:
- Follow all safety rules and Dynatect general rules & procedures.
- Monitor product quality through measurement, inspections, check sheet reviews, and data collection.
- Assist production personnel with training in the use of measurement equipment.
- Assist production personnel with in-process and final quality inspections and training.
- Assist production personnel with blueprint reading and other technical product specifications.
- Perform incoming inspections as required on supplied components and internal fabricated parts.
- Remove and quarantine all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
- Communicate all quality related concerns to Team Leads, Line Leads, Operations Manager, and Quality Dept. through email reports.
- Evaluate and recommend improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability, and safety.
- Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- High School or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in a quality related role.
- Proficient in using measuring tools, calipers, rulers, gages, and micrometers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft excel word, power point, and outlook email.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications.
- Ability to keep accurate records.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
