DESCRIPTION:

Supervise and coordinate activities of team members engaged in manufacturing products of a specific product line or department. To accomplish this, it will require them to:

1. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and all applicable laws. Leads by example; motivates, inspires, and creates a cohesive team environment.

2. Interview coach/develop, and train team members.

3. Plan, assign, and direct work.

4. Appraise work performance, reward, and discipline team members.

5. Address complaints and resolve problems.

PRIMARY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The TEAM LEADER primary responsibilities are:

· Ensuring Safety is always the #1 priority. Participates in safety improvements and ensures a incident free department record.

· Leads and motivates team members in all activities to promote safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory in achieving budgeted metric targets and customer requirements.

· Conducts daily department meeting to ensure the team has the information needed for the successful completion of daily requirements.

· Effectively delegates and allocates tasks to team members within department. Provides support and direction as needed.

· Timely conflict resolution and fair and consistent treatment of employees in accordance with company policy and protocol.

· Study production schedules and estimate team member hour requirements – adjust work priorities and schedules to meet production requirements efficiently.

· Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders (with support from Engineering) to communicate to team members and assigned duties.

· Ensures Syteline transaction are completed accurately by team members and closes jobs in real time.

· Initiates, assists, and/or cooperates in the set-up and implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

· Monitors material and component needs by conforming to inventory and cycle count program.

· Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggest changes to working conditions and/or equipment use to increase efficiency; improve safety; resolve quality issues; etc.

· Partner with Engineering in new product line development and launch.

· Maintain accurate records related to inventory and actively participate in counts when required.

· Completes administrative duties for employees promptly and accurately, such as employee timesheets, performance reviews and any required production reports as needed.

· Maintains team member related records for training, safety, attendance, corrective actions, etc. and submits information to Human Resources in a timely manner.

· Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance team members.

· Communicates with their team, other Team Leads, Line Leads and Management to coordinate activities of individual departments.

· Actively participates in meetings and supports company initiatives in a positive manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises a group of team members in the department/product line and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and results of these team members. All supervisory duties will be carried out in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Associate degree (A.A.) in a related field from a college or technical school plus three (3) years of related supervisory work experience; or equivalent experience.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Basic math skills required.

Ability to read a ruler or tape measure and read/interpret blueprints.

Working knowledge of general assembly operations.

Must be forklift certified or obtain the certification upon hire.

Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
