POSITION OVERVIEW

The Laborer is responsible for performing general cleanup duties and construction jobsite maintenance as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentor with the master electrician and complete all assigned duties
  • Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and assist with electrical work on assigned job site
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Update work logs, client accounts, and handle other administrative duties
  • Order replacement parts and equipment as needed
  • Complete electrical installations and carry out various maintenance duties
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Perform semi-skilled and unskilled labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment
  • Thread conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets, using hand tools
  • Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools
  • Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings
  • Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals for subsequent soldering
  • Trace out short circuits in wiring, using test meter
  • Install copper-clad ground rods, using a manual post driver
  • Clean work area and wash parts
  • Collaborate with team, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Possess necessary hand and power tools to complete job duties
  • Maintain professionalism and integrity with all communication
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

SAFETY AND QUALITY CONTROL

  • Enforce Company safety policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Comply with OSHA regulations
  • Immediately address all safety concerns and ensure proper reporting to the Safety Manager for all jobsite incidents within 24 hours
  • Enforce quality assurance and compliance

TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 30
  • First Aid / CPR

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with hands on electrical work a plus
  • Good problem solver
  • Organized and strong work ethic
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

A successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Special vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment, particularly when in the field, can vary significantly and at times be very loud.
