Dupre’ Logistics is currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator for our office in Atlanta, GA to support our Strategic Capacity Services business unit.
Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator be responsible for supporting the transportation brokerage services by maintaining relationships with existing and potential customers, as well as the identified freight carriers. Our Logistics Coordinator works in a fast paced environment that is at the hub of activity in our Strategic Capacity Services business unit. Our Logistics Coordinator assists in maintaining customer service for designated accounts, performing general administrative duties: data entry of daily load information, communicating with customers, and maintaining documentation. The Logistics Coordinator must possess a sense of personal responsibility, ability to deal with multiple tasks, determination to stick with the job until it’s done, willingness to work with a variety of people, and must be proficient at following through on all task assignments.
Job Duties:
1) Customer/Carrier/Driver Service
a. Customer Problem Resolution
· Advise Account manager, Carrier Manager, Branch Manager or Customer Manager when an issue requires escalation
· Collaborate with Dupre’ Account Managers and/or Operations Center Customer Managers
· Document resolutions accordingly in internal &/or customer facing sites
b. Dupre’ Problem Resolution
· Communicate issues to Account Managers/Carrier Managers/Customer Managers
· Discuss options with Account Managers/Carrier Managers/Customer Managers
· Obtain approval in writing for extra charges
· If detention charges, notify Account Managers/Carrier Managers/Customer Managers to work with Shipper or Consignee to load/unload
· Late truck – Reschedule loading/ delivery with loading CSR
2) Maintaining excellent customer service
a. Answer Inbound Customer Calls
· Provide current & accurate information to Account Managers/Carrier Managers/Customer Managers by email & phone
· Answer carrier calls in a prompt, professional manner utilizing Dupre Logistics & their name in the introduction
· Maintain acceptable level of contact with carriers to build relationships
b. Customer Order Entry
· Document & enter into Mercury Gate any special requirements needed (PPE, equipment, etc.)
· Database order entry – key load into Mercury Gate accurately
· Document each load’s specific location & contact information into MG
· Enter delivery & pick up times into MG
· Identify & document customer bill to
· Verify that all appointments are booked with Account Managers/Carrier Managers/Customer Managers
c. Order Adjustments & Approvals
· Contact Account Manager/Carrier Manager/Customer Manager for customer approval of extra costs by email
· Provide details so Account Manager/Carrier Manager/Customer Manager can submit for approval of detention times & rates to customer, communicate customer approval to Load Planner, attach in Mercury Gate for billing purposes
· Advise Account Manager/Carrier Manager/Customer Manager of changes verbally or email
· Update changes in Mercury Gate as needed
· Attach customer rate approvals as needed
· Project Management such as managing chassis pools or drop trailer pools
d. Customer Communication
· Communicate overages, shortages & damages to customer
· Communicate delays at pick up & delivery points
· Notify customers when other problems arise
· Utilize Excel to create KPI reports to communicate performance to the team
· Utilize Excel and Powerpoint to create presentations for the team to use for QBRs
· Utilize Excel to manage projects for specific customers
· Utilize Excel to manage specific billing processes for select customers
e. Customer Reporting
· Provide updated specific reports to customer to Account Manager/Carrier Manager/Customer Manager
· Provide verified detention reports to Managers
f. Carrier Manager Communication
· Advise Carrier Manager via email, phone & instant messenger of changes to loads
· Address needs of Carrier Manager
· Request updates on loads from Carrier Manager, as needed
· Follow-up with Carrier Manager on uncovered loads
· Keep Carrier Manager abreast of customer policy changes
· Report special requirements for loads to Carrier Manager
· Dispatch drivers in a timely manner
· Track orders with timely event updates
· Schedule appointments based on customer specific expectations and enter into Mercury Gate
Job Qualifications
§ Freight Brokerage operations support account portfolio preferred
§ Brokerage Operations Support experience preferred
§ Carrier & Driver communications experience preferred
§ Freight or Logistics with Transportation Management Software experience (preferred 1 yrs)
§ Phone skills experience
§ Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, powerpoint
§ Technology awareness
