We are seeking a System Administrator for our Canton, MA facility. This position ensures the computing and server infrastructure are stable, secure and capable of meeting the needs of both internal users and clients in a cost effective, timely manner. This position requires strong interpersonal skills as well as critical thinking to problem solve with technical solutions in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and maintain a professional level of quality work and service.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work to ensure that all systems meet or exceed specified uptime requirements.
  • Responsible for supporting the existing server and desktop infrastructure and assisting the network support group in maintaining the network infrastructure WAN/LAN circuits.
  • Work with IT Director in designing, planning and support VMWare environment.
  • All systems are patched utilizing desktop management and software update systems/tools.
  • Assist in the design and development of the overall future systems architecture and help manage a successful migration to that architecture in a timely, cost effective manner.
  • Complete all assigned projects on or ahead of schedule.
  • Interface successfully with internal clients and management.
  • Serve as the System Administrator for the existing Microsoft Windows AD platform.
  • Assist in system upgrades and installations as required.
  • Act as a senior systems resource to the entire organization.
  • Assure successful daily backups.
  • Other duties as assigned which are inherent to the position of System Administrator.

Required Skills

  • Implementing and administering a 500 user LAN environments.
  • TCP/IP and LAN/WAN network topology.
  • Cisco networking gear.
  • VMWare.
  • Various backup solutions/technology (Veeam, Vranger, etc.)
  • Cloud infrastructure environment.
  • Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory Environment.
  • Utilizing Desktop Manager tools (SCCM) to deploy software; image desktops.
  • Advanced LAN diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Focused attention to detail, execution of tasks, and follow-up
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to maintain multiple priorities

Required education/training

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent work experience
  • Certification in Microsoft Windows Administration or equivalent
