We are currently seeking a Digital Press Operator to join our team. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and technical expertise in press operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understands the Quality System and this position’s requirements within the system.
- A solid understanding of prepress and printing including a familiarity with layout, trim, bleed and ripping.
- Creates digitally produced printing both toner & inkjet.
- Creates and modifies templates for digital presses.
- A working knowledge of current page layout software, i.e. Preps by Kodak.
- Makes digital two-sided proofs of printed sheets/signatures.
- A basic understanding of plate making, assists plate makers when necessary.
- Follows general company and department regulations and procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrates reliability through attendance and punctuality.
- Follows all company and department safety regulations and procedures.
- Keeps work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Reports any unsafe or hazardous conditions to immediate supervisor.
- Interacts with other departments and employees on a routine basis.
- Serves as a resource to others in the department and company in the resolution of complex problems, issues and improved methodologies.
Education and Skills:
High School or equivalent degree or one to two years recent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
