The purpose of the Senior Resident Manager is to ensure and promote the physical and emotional safety and wellbeing of clients at all times by providing direct client supervision and by designing and implementing activities/experiences to meet specific, established goals. This position reports 3-11 Tue-Sat.
Job Responsibilities and Standards for Measuring Performance:
The Senior Resident Manager position within the Drug Abuse Treatment Association, Inc. is responsible for the following:
1. Develop cohesion and community in the facility by serving as a positive role model to clients, other staff members, and consistently engaging in appropriate behaviors and maintaining a positive attitude.
2. Preventing conflict in the facility by utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques, and mediating conflicts by using a fair and balanced approach when they do occur.
3. Regularly communicate observations and concerns with appropriate staff (i.e., therapists, resident managers, supervisors, etc.), and act as a liaison between the clients and supervisors.
4. Embrace and enforce the rules and policies of the agency and residential facility at all times.
5. Communicate well in group and individual situations and establish rapport with a wide variety of clients.
6. Quickly evaluate crisis situations and respond appropriately.
7. Complete all required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures (i.e., daily logs, behavior reports, incident reports, client pass documents, medical documents, group notes, monthly activity calendar/report, etc.).
8. Participate in treatment team and staff meetings as required.
9. In collaboration with the Residential Program Supervisor and Residential Therapists, develop and post the weekly schedule.
10. Design, monitor, and update an educational bulletin board on topics relevant to the client on a monthly basis.
11. Facilitate transportation to clients as required. Transportation will occur in agency-owned vehicles only and all employees must meet agency requirements prior to providing transportation. Maintain a minimum hour of training as per Personnel Manual (DCF/Agency/CARF training) annually.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in the mental health/social services field, with prior experience in the substance abuse field or working with adolescents (i.e., emergency shelter, group home, residential facility, etc.). Must have a valid State of Florida’s driver’s license with not more than one moving violation during the immediate 3-year period prior to employment.
