We are actively seeking applicants to lead and oversee our Fertilization team. We're looking for motivated individuals who are able to work both collaboratively and independently, safely, and with our team in mind.

The Fertilization Manager carries the responsibility for the direction and oversight of the fertilization and pesticide application subdivision as it relates to training and staff management, proposals and scheduling, client service, record keeping for SDS and OSHA compliance, and coordination of materials and equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and implement fertilization programs tailored to the specific needs of each client’s landscape, taking into account factors such as soil composition, plant types, and environmental conditions.
• Apply pesticides and fertilizers according to recommended rates and application procedures on both commercial and residential properties.
• Blend products according to recommended rates and procedures.
• Record application data according to regulations and standards.
• Manage compliance documentation for SDS and OSHA standards.
• Enforce proper use and supply of Personal Protective Equipment for all team members.
• Coordinate with suppliers to procure high-quality fertilizers, organic amendments, equipment, and other products necessary for the fertilization program.
• Develop and present proposals to new and existing clients.
• Educate clients on the importance of fertilization for maintaining healthy landscapes and provide recommendations for ongoing maintenance practices.
• Generate, communicate, and manage production schedule to team.
• Maintain and cultivate customer relationships.
• Train and develop team members, providing guidance on proper application techniques and safety protocols.
• Perform regular safety inspections and inventory of equipment, including company vehicles. Maintain all equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working order at all times.
• Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and advancements in fertilization techniques, and incorporate new ideas and technologies into our program as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, and promote a culture of safety among staff members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Licensed Commercial Pesticide Applicator – Core, 3A, and 3B, required.

Technical Skills and Prior Experience:

• Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in landscape fertilization management or a similar role.
• Industry specific certifications such as CGIP is ideal.
• Possess a strong ability to multi-task, and exercise efficiencies in time management.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic to intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess superior interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues, and direct reports, and do so with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Possess and maintain a valid Michigan Driver’s License. A CDL with class C endorsement is preferred.
