Job description

The Maintenance Manager performs a hands-on role and is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance.
  • Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
  • Maintain and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
  • Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance- related problems.
  • Manage plant maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner and by minimizing overtime.
  • Conduct annual employee performance reviews to assess their competency, knowledge, and contribution
  • Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
  • Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems.
  • Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
  • Ensure that all equipment is operational and OSHA compliant.
  • Coordinate activities with Plant Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED

  • Associates degree from a college or University in a related technical field or certificate/diploma from a trade school in related field.
  • Eight years of experience in maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with repairs/maintenance of processing equipment and maintaining a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Competence with MS, Word, Excel, Outlook.

DESIRED

  • Experience managing in a fast-paced plant operation.

MUST HAVE

  • Manufacturing experience
  • Must have prior supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and written.
