Position Overview

As the Architect, you will be the leader of the technical team and the go-to technical person for stakeholders and the product team. You will design solutions that meet consumer needs today, and can be built and improved upon to scale in the future. We are a passionate, entrepreneurial team that is constantly experimenting and learning, and expect you to as well.

What you will work on

• Leading: Teaching and coaching is an integral part of this role. We want people who want to share their experiences, best practices and knowledge to elevate the team as a whole.
• Coding: Our engineers, no matter what level, never go hands off. We think it’s important to be close to the code and be involved in the code review. We work with several different technologies, including Java, React, and React Native, and practices like TDD and continuous integration.
• Learning: Our engineering team is full of life-long learners. We are looking for people who have a growth mindset, stay up on their craft, and always keep an eye out for what’s next. Open Source contributions and cross training opportunities are a way of life here.
• Problem solving: The problems we are solving are unique and complex. This takes critical thinking, root cause analysis, and issue dissection with the team to come up with the best solution.
• Delivering: We are committed to producing world class products. Being skilled at managing competing priorities, pivoting and adjusting quickly, and thinking about the big picture are keys to success.

Qualifications

• At least eight (8) years of experience in coding and development, ideally with backend, frontend, and mobile experience
• At least five (5) years of experience in architecture and technical strategy
• At least three (3) years of experience managing or leading engineering teams
• Passionate about technology and coding
• Really strong in open source libraries/frameworks
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

• 10% Travel

• 30% Phone work
