Position Summary:

Dr. Alexis Phillips Kids Dentist is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will work alongside our pediatric dentists to provide exceptional care to our young patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and contributing to the overall positive experience of our clinic. Your dedication and expertise will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our practice and in making each child's dental visit a pleasant and reassuring experience.

• Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday - Thursday: 8am - 4pm

Responsibilities:

• Position would require coverage in both practice locations - BOISE and EAGLE
• Assist pediatric dentists during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Set up and breakdown operatory post-treatment.
• Take dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
• Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Provide patients and parents with education on dental health and preventive care.
• Ensure proper maintenance of dental records and patient documentation.
• Assist with front office tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification preferred.
• Experience in a pediatric dental office or working with children preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficient in dental software and digital radiography.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children and parents.
