This large New York Real Estate Development firm is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. A Maintenance Tech is responsible for general maintenance assignments and performing day-to-day facility repairs. The ideal candidate must know all aspects of High Rise Apartments. Duties will include but are not limited to, responding to all resident service maintenance requests, moving out, and turning over repairs. Candidate must be responsible, reliable, hands-on, and committed. This position reports to the Superintendent of the building. Essential functions are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.

• Must possess knowledge in the repairs of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, HVAC/boilers, etc.
• Ensures that work order requests are responded to and resolved efficiently and promptly.
• Organize, prioritize and ensure service requests and repairs are made correctly and promptly.
• A candidate must be able to write clearly and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to use company IPads and/or work tablets to close work orders at end of the shift.
• Responding to and repairing move-out and turnover repairs in the apartments.
• Inspect grounds, buildings, and other community features daily to minimize liability concerns and ensure excellent curb appeal at all times.
• Candidate must possess a high standard of work quality.
• Ensure adherence to the company’s safety and hazard communications programs, policies, and procedures.
• Must be committed to maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Other tasks or duties as assigned by Superintendent.
• Snow removal is mandatory.
• Work as part of a team.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
• Have own tools
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and highly dependable
• Prior experience in Maintenance Tech position and/or industry a Plus
• Must have a valid NYS driver’s license

Computer Skills:

• Basic computer and Internet knowledge
• Ability to use Outlook
• Ability to operate and understand personal computer functions and company-utilized software packages
