POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a First Shift (6AM – 2:30PM) Assembler III (Water Spider) based in Indianapolis, IN. The Assembler III position provides the team with mastery of a majority of tasks on the departmental training matrix and has the ability to train these tasks consistent with the standard work.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $20-$25/hr plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform a variety of basic production and assembly processes, operating various production and assembly machines and using hand tools
• Visually inspect parts to quality standards and communicate any problems to the supervisor/lead person
• Pack finished product, including instructional sheets and any necessary hardware, and may be responsible for Out of Box Quality tasks consistent with closed loop quality processes
• Train Assembler I and II employees, as well as participate in Continuous Improvement discipline activities such as KATA, Kaizen, or Six Sigma events
• Follow all environmental, health, & safety (EHS) policies & procedures including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and perform daily 5S
• Responsible for floor inventory accuracy and replenishment

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• Operation of Powered Industrial Vehicles and equipment (must be able to certify)
• Ability to use of hands for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc.
• Manual dexterity; ability use arms, hands to reach, seize, hold, grasp, turn, and to touch, pick, pinch when working primarily with fingers
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds

WHAT WE PREFER

• 3 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP software
• Experience with problem solving tools like 5Y, A3, KATA
• Exposure to CI methodologies like Kaizen, Six Sigma
• EHS knowledge with dedication to PPE
