Overview:

Join our team as a Senior Engineering Manager for Image Platform and lead a group of talented engineers in developing core image processing components for Dolby Vision products. Help define the future of Dolby Vision and improve the way the world experiences video entertainment. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact across all of Dolby’s businesses from the creation of video content for cinema, broadcast and OTT to all the devices with which the world consumes video content. Bring your deep expertise in image processing, color science and video pipelines to the leader in HDR and Wide Color Gamut entertainment.

Responsibilities:

• Build, mentor, and lead a team of high-capability engineers in developing core image processing technology components.

• Collaborate with the Senior Core Technology Manager to resource a prioritized roadmap of existing and new component releases.

• Partner with internal Dolby imaging research groups to drive research that supports your team’s work and to productize research-developed technologies.

• Work closely with imaging product managers and technical leaders to understand their product’s needs and influence component features and designs.

• Partner with a QA leader to ensure the highest quality of component software releases.

• Execute component development projects on-schedule using Agile methodology.

• Develop and execute a team vision that inspires and motivates.

• Collaborate with other engineering leaders to build greater technology-organization cohesion, culture, and morale.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• 10 years of hands-on experience with imaging pipelines and algorithm engineering.

• Working experience in High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging engineering.

• 10 years of software engineering in C/C .

• Proven track record in forming and mentoring an engineering team.

• A consistent history of innovation and creativity.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed organization.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clarity of thought.

Desired:

• Working knowledge of Image Quality engineering.

• Understanding of Color Science and Tone Mapping.

• Understanding of Video compression signal processing.

• Prior experience with Dolby Vision technology.

• Visual effects algorithm development.

• MATLAB imaging experience.

• Familiarity with SMPTE and ITU video standards.

The Sunnyvale/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $225,200 - $275,300, which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
