Doit Security is Hiring a Remote Content Writer (CWAAS)

Company Description

In every business and market area, cloud adoption and digital transformation are becoming the standard. Doit Security is starting a long-term effort to assist cloud security firms influence the new SASE category.

THIS POSITION IS 100% REMOTE

Position Summary

The Content Writer will be responsible for supporting communications that increase national awareness of Doit Security, its programs, projects, and grantees, including the nationwide network of venues and events. As a member of our communications team, the Content Writer will be an engaging storyteller, creative thinker, and resourceful researcher who will draft a variety of written communications for diverse target audiences using tone and style, as well as a strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and proofreading. The Content Writer's work will support Doit Security initiatives and further Doit's vision, purpose, and fundamental principles of community building via Social Media, etc. The ideal applicant will have a love for creative placemaking, and social impact, in addition to technical abilities and expertise. Position reporting to the Director of Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Compellingly disseminate the social and economic effect of Doit programs in communities and people's lives, as well as tales inspired by data and research around results and impact, via content production in a number of media (blog, website, etc.).
  • Create material for blog series and articles, online content, research summaries, presentations, marketing collateral, and other writing assignments as needed.
  • Weekly blog entries are written, edited, and proofread.
  • Cultivate sources within the Doit Security network of partners and grantees to uncover and produce unique story ideas that highlight their work in communities and various levels of impact while furthering the Doit goal.
  • Actively seek out and develop content that inspires and motivates audiences to embrace the Doit mission
  • Seek out and create material that inspires and drives viewers to support the Doit cause.
  • To successfully communicate the Doit Security narrative, develop and integrate ideas and concepts through creative material that is vivid, engaging, and relevant.
  • When structuring tales and messages, distinguish between on- and off-brand messaging.
  • Work with colleagues, partners, and funders to guarantee the quality and veracity of material across numerous platforms and media.
  • Manage narrative creation, email marketing, website content, and social media messaging programs.
  • Curate a photo/video/multimedia collection to supplement textual messages and initiatives.
  • Apply basic understanding of marketing communications, positioning, and message.
  • Maintain the highest levels of perfection in grammar, proofreading, and correctness.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or a similar discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in journalism, public relations, or marketing, creating material for print, online, social media, and advertising.
  • Genuine love of writing and skilled wordsmith
  • A critical thinker who excels at integrating themes and synthesizing information is required; excellent judgment is required.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Excellent editing and proofreading abilities
  • Gifted and creative storyteller capable of crafting clear and compelling tales for both general and target audiences
  • Commitment to mission-driven work in the arts, innovative placemaking, arts for social impact, equitable civic regeneration and community development, or a comparable discipline is required.
  • Experience writing about cybersecurity and technology, other IT related, etc.
  • Superior precision and attention to detail
  • Work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
  • Adaptability to altering priorities
  • Individual who is highly driven and succeeds in a collaborative situation
  • Working understanding of multimedia formats to support textual material is preferred but not needed.
  • Experience in communications in the Cybersecurity and or Technology sector is preferred.
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
