Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager:

  • Manages activities for multiple projects across all phases, including initiation planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure.
  • Works collaboratively with Installation, Training and members of the Product Line Management department to ensure project(s) meet objectives.
  • Creates, manages, and tracks project progress documentation, including detailed project plans, project scope statements, resource plans, risk and issue logs, and status reports.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinates/conducts meetings for assigned projects.
  • Completes and submits to stakeholders the appropriate documentation required for the assigned project, which is also to be stored in the appropriate DSS data repository for review by DSS management as needed.
  • Makes key decisions that drive progress across projects.
  • Manages day-to-day activities of projects; communicate with the necessary groups to ensure project deliverables are on schedule and within parameters set forth from Management.

Other Duties:

  • Tailors project management, development and support processes to meet the needs of Vendors/ External Clients.
  • Travels as needed, including weekend travel when necessary (abiding by DSS established travel guidelines)

SECURITY AND PRIVACY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Individuals working for DSS will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Required:

  • Ability to work effectively (maintaining accuracy and sensitivity) under tight timelines and schedules.

  • Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Possesses exceptional skills in partnering with staff from multiple departments and in developing and maintaining long-term supportive relationships.
  • Ability to organize time effectively while identifying barriers to progress, proposing solutions and setting priorities.
  • Ability to be effective in a rapidly growing organization.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of email, in person meetings and conference calls.

Desired:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficient with MS Project.
  • Possesses excellent listening skills and a commitment to communicating in a clear, concise and timely manner at all times.
  • Possesses proven aptitude for understanding technical process and the ability to learn new software as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree; equivalent combinations of work experience and\or education will be considered.
  • Experience in technology environments, including 2-3 years of practical professional experience in project management.

Desired:

  • A certification in the clinical or technical specialty related to the product assignment or a demonstrated aptitude for acquiring the necessary knowledge and experience appropriate to the technical level to needed to perform or work with clients assigned to the specialty;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Project Management Professional [PMP] preferred
  • Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt considered
    • Must be willing and able to attain certification if not currently achieved
