LPN/Primary Nurse

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Fill up patient rooms. Obtain all vitals and complete EMR to include the ROS and HPI.

• Assist physician in surgical/in office procedures.

• Sterilize and package surgical instruments.

• Keep cabinets and patient rooms cleaned and stocked.

• Perform CT scans as ordered under the supervision of the MD.

• Administer medications as instructed by physician. Administer allergy shots in satellite clinics.

• Schedule in- and outpatient surgeries and other procedures and provide patient counseling and education.

• Take patient calls and/or return calls to patients regarding test results or other problems. Advise physician, when appropriate.

• Send in prescriptions to pharmacies as ordered by the physician.

• Keep a binder with all important documents specific to your physician.

• Direct floater nurses as needed to help your physician’s clinic flow.

• Be prepared to manage emergency situations.

• Coordinate physician’s schedule with other primary nurses for surgeries and other procedures.

• Promote a pleasant working environment. Work well with others and always maintain patient confidentiality.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a clinical healthcare setting. Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to interpret diagnostic tests. Experience in Otolaryngology (ENT)
