The Disney Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) Content Analytics team is looking for a Data Analyst who will help to measure, understand, and take action on content trends and audience behavior that impacts the strategic goals of The Walt Disney Company. Our team’s expertise is exploratory data analysis, sophisticated reporting and insight development, data visualization and storytelling to deliver actionable insights and provide recommendations to drive business decision-making. This group collaborates with teams across the DTC organization as well as partners from business units across The Walt Disney Company to generate insightful, compelling, and strategic analyses that help make a difference. The right person for this role has exceptional analytical capabilities, thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves problem-solving, is a good communicator, and is passionate about high quality content.
This role will support the DTC portfolio function within our team, primarily supporting initiatives involving the decomposition of platform engagement into content drivers and investigation into behavioral changes across the various ways we evaluate our subscriber base.
Conduct analyses to drive valuable business insights, using internal analytics tools and SQL to access and manipulate multivariate data
Build data visualizations and multi-faceted dashboards that convey key content engagement metrics, significant trends, and relationships across multiple data sources within the content domain
Ideate and develop new metrics and analytical approaches, measuring content trends and audience behavior for both tactical and strategic decision-making
Effectively communicate results through compelling data storytelling across the organization, both in oral presentations and via written reports
Provide ad-hoc analysis support to identify content trends that drive business performance
Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, or related field
At least 3 years of Data Analytics experience
Advanced analytical skills (including proficient ability to read/write complex SQL queries) with the ability to apply business strategy to data analysis and recommendations
Ability to think strategically, analyze and interpret first and third party information
Experience manipulating large data sets and interpreting data trends using a multitude of disparate data sources and tools
Experience with data exploration and data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
Strong analytical and technical skills to tackle issues, analyze the cause, quickly come-up with possible solutions, detail the changes, and communicate organizational impact
Demonstrable experience in detailing the data requirements, data strategy, data rules (standardization, cleansing, and validation)
Experience in the streaming media industry and/or supporting a direct-to-consumer or subscription-based product
Experience presenting and contributing to data stories that are shared with key business partners
