Direct Counsel is Hiring a Construction Litigation Attorney Near Portland, OR

Direct Counsel is seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Law Attorney to join a top law firm in the Portland, Oregon area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in transactional and/or litigation construction law, showcasing proficiency in drafting pleadings, participating in discovery and motion practice, assisting in arbitration and trial, and a deep understanding of construction contract review, drafting, and negotiation, including AIA forms. Knowledge of lien laws, bid protests, delay and impact claims, and governmental contracts is essential. Strong academic credentials, professional references, and excellent research, analysis, writing, and communication skills are required. The successful candidate will demonstrate ownership of projects, a team-oriented mindset with significant independence, and a commitment to strong client service ethics. Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity is a requirement. The pay range for this position is $165,000 - $185,000.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle transactional and litigation aspects of construction law.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts, including AIA forms.
  • Provide expertise in lien laws, bid protests, delay and impact claims, and governmental contracts.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and contribute to effective communication.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction law.
  • Strong academic credentials and professional references.
  • Excellent research, analysis, writing, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and ability to work independently.
  • Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity.

Note: Salary information is provided for transparency and falls within the range of $165,000 - $185,000.
