Job Overview:The Settlement Accounting Clerk will assist the accounting team by handling various clerical duties related to the settlements obtained for our clientele. The primary responsibility in this role will be preparing settlement packages for disbursement to our clients. This position will also serve as a backup to our settlement team and will assist in various tasks as needed. Duties & Responsibilities:
Preparation and completion of legal settlement packages
Index and record incoming checks daily
Update reporting
Record daily accounting entries and accruals
Reconciliations
Assist settlement accountants as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
Self-starter – you take initiative and thrive in environments with minimal supervision
Communicating with individuals at all levels within the firm – i.e., Executives, Attorneys, Case Managers
Team oriented mindset
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Hands on experience with accounting software a plus
Exceptional prioritization for focusing on the most time sensitive duties
