Sales Managers are responsible for attaining sales, gross margin, staffing, credit, and inventory goals for their assigned area. A Sales Manager must recruit, coach, and supervise all associates assigned to their area, including reviewing job performance, addressing disciplinary concerns, and motivating all associates to achieve sales goals. A Sales Manager directs all activities in their assigned area, including merchandising, staffing, price changes, inventory control, and housekeeping and fitting room maintenance if applicable. Sales Managers are responsible for communicating with the buying team to develop merchandise selections that meet the needs of the customer. A sales manager participates in all store opening/closing procedures, assists with associate and/or customer concerns, and any other duties that are necessary for business operations.
