Diligent Robotics is searching for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to help develop and test new components for our next generation robot assistant. This internship provides a unique opportunity for aspiring engineers to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and innovative corporate work environment.

*This paid internship opportunity is located in Austin, TX and local candidates are preferred. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and building test setups for robotic systems
• Aiding in the CAD and physical assembly of robotic systems
• Assisting with the setup of our new prototyping shop equipment
• Prototyping new robot components

A good candidate would be, at minimum:

• Currently pursuing a BS in ME (or related field)
• Proficient with prototype fabrication techniques - 3D printing, laser cutting, wood assemblies, wiring
• Experience at designing in OnShape (or SolidWorks)
• Experience with electronics controls like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, motors, and switches
• Clean and organized
• Eager to test and learn new things

The ideal candidate would be:

• Proficient at electronic automation projects
• Familiar with FEA simulations
• Familiar with ASME Y14.5-2009 GD&T standards
• Experienced in manufacturing prototype and production environments
• Experienced with machine shop tools
