988 Training Supervisor (Olympic Suicide Prevention Center)

This position is a fully remote position open to applicants nationwide. The pay range for this position is between $26.37 - $30.33 per hour.

Summary

This position is responsible for supporting all Suicide Prevention Center volunteer/staff training classes and recruitment efforts.

Primary Duties

  • Assist Training Coordinator(s) in recruiting new volunteers.
  • Reach out to all interested potential volunteers from outreach events, emails, and online sources.
  • Keep interest lists for training classes, and schedule phone and in-person interviews with potential trainees.
  • Keep the volunteering info on the Didi Hirsch website updated.
  • Support or conduct the interview processes as needed. And communicate the results of these interviews to the potential trainees. Update list of all accepted participants and their contact info.
  • Work with the Training Coordinator(s) to maintain a real-time spreadsheet (i.e. SmartSheet) of all accepted trainees and keep track of their HR activities (background checks, TB tests, etc.).
  • Work with the Training Admin to identify the trainees to be scheduled into ASIST trainings.
  • Assist in creating online classroom sites (i.e. Google Classroom) and inputting the starting information.
  • Assist the Training Coordinator(s) in creating training lectures using best practices.
  • Participate in the training classes while they are in session, as speakers, lecturers, phone mentors (buddies), and role players. Help with scheduling of other speakers, lecturers, phone buddies, and role players.
  • Support the set-up of all facilities, snacks, and technology.
  • Keep track of which trainees miss class sessions and send them appropriate make-up materials.
  • Support Training Admin and Coordinator(s) to maintain data on whether trainees have done their outside-class assignments (DDH training, phone buddy sessions, listen-ins, Relias, etc.).
  • Assist in placement of trainees within SPC's scheduled shifts. Input new volunteers' info into iCarol (SPC's online record and shift management software) and into the SPC Master Schedule and Contact Sheets.
  • Provide support to new trainees and identify and provide additional training as needed.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new trainees.
  • Support volunteer morale and retention efforts.
  • Assist the Training Coordinator(s) in staying abreast of updated data and trends in the field of suicide prevention.

Position Requirements

  • Working knowledge of mental health services and suicide prevention services.
  • Working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, DMH, Department of Social Services, and other state, federal regulations related to outpatient and crisis line services.
  • Advanced skills to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • Telephone and personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.
  • Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
