The candidate will assist with the full spectrum of facility and building management responsibilities. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, asset management of all furniture and various equipment and accessories that are considered assets assigned to the facilities, assist the Government Real Property Building Manager (RPBM) in performance of daily inspections of facilities, and identification, reporting, and tracking of facility-related issues to resolution. The candidate will also assist in analyzing and advising the Government on internal space reorganizations, addressing considerations, and plans for space assignment. The candidate will interface and communicate with customers, contractors, and other Government officials.

Facility Management Support Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to, analyzing requirements, resolving problems with facilities, submitting work requests to Civil Engineering (CE), and attend meetings when requested; Prioritize individual tasks in accordance with priorities established by the Government RPBM, or other responsible government personnel. In support of the Government RPBM, the employee shall adhere to all policies and procedures at WP Air Force Base Facility Manager Program.
  • General Responsibilities: Utilize the Self-Help Program to request approval for projects in instances when CE cannot accomplish work in the time frame requested by the individual or organization
  • Maintain the grounds (to include parking lot islands) that extend to the halfway point between adjacent facilities, to the natural boundary or, in the absence of both, to a point 50 feet from the facility.
  • Assist with the development and tracking of facility and furniture maintenance budgets and expenditures, identify out-of-cycle budget requirements, and work with the directorate operations management and finance points of contact to resolve financial issues; Assist in planning various facility related projects by gathering and summarizing data, identifying alternative methods of meeting project goals and the preparation of the documentation required to implement the government's decision. Typical facility related projects include, but are not limited to, seat management, carpet cleaning or replacement, window washing, signage placement, and office refurbishment.
  • Assist in the development of a COOP by providing facilities information on recovering from any operational disruptions caused by environmental and/or man-made disasters (fire, flood, sabotage, human error, etc.).
  • Assist with the distribution of supplies and equipment from local vendors, UPS, and government agencies, by telephone notification or delivery. This support entails, but is not limited to, performing an inventory of items delivered, calling organizations to inform them of their need to pick up delivered items, putting items in temporary storage awaiting pick-up, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining a current document library for warranties, instructions, and specifications.
  • Monitor and actively promote the conservation of electricity, natural gas, water, and other utilities in the facility.

Requirements:

  • HS/GED, ten (10) years of experience in the respective profession being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD.
  • Will demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work swiftly in order to accommodate any issues that arise
  • Must be organized and understand the prioritization of assigned tasks
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance at the required level
