Detroit Recovery Project, Inc. (DRP) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that provides outpatient recovery support services for those with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. We treat the whole person through our integrated programs of primary medical and behavioral healthcare.
Our program philosophy is rooted in developing a healthy recovery ecosystem for those seeking long-term recovery. Through strong therapeutic relationships with our clients, helping them to understand the underlying social and emotional issues that drive their substance use, the recovery ecosystem focuses on five key areas:

What we’re looking for:
DRP is currently seeking a full-time Mental Health & SUD Therapist. The Mental Health & SUD Therapist will provide expertise in handling professional casework. They will engage in intensive therapy to address complex social problems and develop personalized treatment plans. The Mental Health & SUD Therapist will work with individuals, groups, and families, ensuring that those served receive the care they deserve.
Compensation Range: The starting pay range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 per year and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. This is a salaried-exempt role that is ineligible for overtime compensation.
The Ideal candidate will:
  • Screen, assess, diagnose, and create treatment plans to help clients on their path to recovery.
  • Participate in treatment team conferences and collaborate with other professionals, family members, and referral sources.
  • Research and locate available help outlets based on clients' needs, offering both in-house and external referrals.
  • Follow up on the services clients are referred to, ensuring their participation and program compliance.
  • Maintain flexible hours to meet the needs of our clients and agency.
  • Continuously enhance your professional growth through educational programs, workshops, and current literature.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a mental health setting as a Full or Limited Licensed BSW, MSW, LLPC/LPC, or an equivalent combination of experience and education such as an LLMSW/LMSW
  • LLMSW/LMSW or LLPC/LPC License in the State of Michigan
  • Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) Certificate, or MCBAP CAADC Development Plan (required for providing Substance Use Disorder Services).
  • A valid and unrestricted State of Michigan Driver’s License and insurance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with EMR systems is a plus!
