We've transformed one of Breck’s integral downtown properties into an extraordinary three-story experience. Inspired by the charm of teeny, hygge-forward, food-focused inns sprinkled throughout the European Alps, our "restaurant with rooms" concept features four Swiss chalet style hotel suites, exceptionally designed with relaxation and sophistication in mind. The Carlin, an 80-seat open kitchen restaurant, offers an airy, chic spot for oysters and wood-fired oven dishes alongside meticulously curated wine offerings. The Tavern Underground, our subterranean modern-meets-casual cocktail bar offers moody sophistication in an intimate space for craft cocktails and elevated comfort food.

Why You? 

You are a punctual, driven and detail oriented culinary professional looking for an opportunity to expand your skill set. You enjoy focusing on project execution, you have a sense of genuine hospitality for guests and passion for delicious and accessible food. You ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a scratch kitchen, have used various kitchen equipment such as a sous vide, meat grinders, pasta rollers and exhibit safe and efficient knife skills. If you do not yet have these skills, it’s alright. We would love to teach them to a candidate with a true desire to learn. 

The Day to Day. 

Communicate with leadership to complete the daily prep list using proper portions, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Prepare house recipes with precision, consistency, speed and accuracy. 

Know and uphold food hygiene, sanitation and safety best practices.

Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock. 

Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using thermometers or other methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils. 

Assist in ordering and receiving. Keep food storage areas clean and organized. 

Be self-directed and work with minimal supervision. Follow all directions from leadership. 

Be open and receptive to communication and feedback.

Contribute to a positive, productive work environment. 

Compensation - $20 - $22 per hour DOE and access to our comprehensive benefits program after 60 days. 

  • Winter Wellness Bonus of $1000 after satisfying minimum average hourly requirements over the winter season. 
  • Full time team members are eligible for group health insurance after 60-days. Destination Hospitality contributes $250 per month toward overall individual premiums for eligible enrolled employees. 
  • Accumulated PTO (Paid Time Off). 
  • Paid sick days 
  • Tuition reimbursement for industry related coursework up to $1k per year
