Design Ready Controls is Hiring a Quality Control Lead Near Brooklyn, MN

Position Summary

Design Ready Controls is a leader in control panel building and searching for our next key player to join our production team. As an EV Quality Control Inspector you will be responsible for conducting standard quality assurance inspections of electrical control panels and wire harnesses, completing QA documentation and more.
Key Responsibilities 
  • Conduct standard quality assurance inspections of electrical control panels and wire harnesses
  • Complete QA documentation and problem resolution logs
  • Identify opportunities for improvement based on inspection and test results
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required or requested
  • Read, understand, and utilize various engineering and manufacturing documents including bills of materials, assembly drawings, assembly instructions and diagrams
  • Identify and relay errors to co-workers in a professional manner
  • Assist in other areas of manufacturing as needed
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area
  • Assist in 5S and Lean activities as required
  • Assist in process improvement measures
  • Work with supervisor and other team leads to manage daily workflow to ensure on time delivery and efficiency goals are met.
  • Participate as an active member of the production/warehouse team, and help out wherever needed (ex. eliminate bottlenecks, or aid in rework).
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and personnel issues to Production Supervisor.
  • Use problem solving skills to work closely with support staff such as engineering, warehouse/shipping, and management to resolve issues.
  • Monitor employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
  • Complete requisite documentation relating to quality, production, and safety requirements.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Manage and communicate work flow, monitor work load and department productivity.
  • Prioritize workload and promote a positive work environment.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding issues within the department.
  • Actively communicate with other team leads.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Production Supervisor.
  • Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Education | Experience
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Proficiency using precision measurement tools, torque, hand and power tools in a safe manner
  • Previous quality control inspection experience (preferred)
  • Experience working in ISO and 5S environments (preferred)
  • ERP experience (preferred)
Abilities | Skills
  • Good math, computer (Microsoft Office) and communication skills
  • High motivation level, ability to multi-task and work well independently as well as with others
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally (with assistance)
  • Visual acuity (wire color and small print on wire)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
