Medical Assistant Job Summary:
Dermablue Medical Assistants sustain the operational flow of the clinic by supporting both Registered Nurses as well as Medical Providers. The Medical Assistant is a core role within the organization and is integral to the support and care of all of our patients. Dermblue Medical Assistants must be a multi-faceted employee and able to cross-train and assist in a variety of functions within the organization.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
The Dermablue Medical Assistant position will have the following job responsibilities:
· Schedule patients/Nurse Closure and coordinate outside referrals
· Collecting Copays for telehealth visits
· Facilitate workflow for patient and practice efficiency
· Obtain vitals, provide injections,
· Assisting during physical exams and/or procedures
· Sterilization of medical instruments
Assist nurse phone extensions and create appropriate telephone encounters for in-office messaging
· Explain medical procedures to patients
· Maintain annual consents on file for procedure visits
· Submitting all prescriptions to pharmacies and checking daily verification outbox in EMR
· Complete assessment and flow forms and maintain medical records
· Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
· Maintain treatment rooms
· Maintaining schedule and Superbill preparation two days in advance
· Utilizing electronic medical record software to input and maintain patient records
· Occasionally provide coverage support providing venipuncture in Blue Sky MD lab
· Other duties may be assigned according to business needs
Education Required:
Minimum: Associate’s degree
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
Experience Required:
· 3 years in a Primary Care, Dermatology, Urgent Care, and/or Emergency Care setting
· Experience with typing and computer applications, including Electronic Medical Records
· Excellent grammatical skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask also important
Compensation:
· Commensurate with experience
