Job Overview:

We are a small private Endocrinology practice here in Asheville. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing patient care and medical administrative support. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to the overall well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities:

- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures

- Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure

- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood glucose monitoring

- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records and prior authorizations

- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment

- Assist with patient education by providing information on medications, procedures, and general health maintenance

Experience:

- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is preferred

- Previous experience in Endocrinology (preferred but nor required)

- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology

- Proficiency in performing basic medical procedures

- Familiarity with medical coding systems and electronic health records (EHR)

- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and interpret results

- Basic life support (BLS) certification is desired
