Department of Health Care Services is Hiring a STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I Near Sacramento, CA

Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Section Chief, Staff Services Manager II (SSMII), the Staff Services Manager I is responsible for overseeing the coordination of cross divisional projects (e.g., Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), comprehensive workplans/timelines, etc.). The SSM I is responsible for developing public-facing documents and policy materials, providing Technical Assistance (TA), and leading monitoring activities for managed care policy (e.g., California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM), pilot projects, etc.) for Managed Care Plans.

This recruitment has been posted for more vacancies than currently exist as it may be used to fill additional identical vacancies which occur within 180 days of the closing date of this bulletin.

Working Conditions

This position may be eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in-person and site-based a minimum of two days per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’ Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required.
Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Managed Care Quality and Monitoring Division has an opening for a Staff Services Manager I in the Policy & Project Unit, Policy & External Relations Section, in the Managed Care Policy Branch.
