POSITION TITLE: Patient Access Manager
ORGANIZATION: Dental Connections
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
Position Purpose: Manager responsible for leading and administering the functions of the Patient Access Team, supervise Patient Access staff members, and provide exceptional patient service in accordance with Dental Connections policies and procedures.
Job Functions:
· Direct supervision of revenue cycle to include insurance billing, claims, and accounts. Ensure revenue cycle processes are completed properly and maintained regularly, including:
o Prior authorization process
o Eligibility/Frequencies
o Insurance claims, processing and posting
o Paragon communications and resolutions
o Accounts receivable
o Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
o Walkouts
o Insurance payments
· Maintain expert level knowledge of Curve systems and ability to support staff questions/issues within the system;
· Directly supervise Patient Access operations and personnel including:
o Guidance and instruction on improvement of Patient Access team
o Timecard approval and Time Off requests;
o Proper follow up for Patient Access concerns;
o Administrative functions including assisting with annual evaluations, disciplinary actions, coaching, etc.
o Audit/spot check work of Patient Access team;
o Maximize scheduling and ensure accurate appointments are scheduled by Patient Access team;
o Structure and provide orientation to new Patient Access personnel;
· Ensure ability to answer day-to-day questions from personnel and patients;
· Regularly work Curve accounts for Accounts Receivable reports, manage the collection process and work with Accounts Payable for appropriate documentation and follow up for patient balances;
· Conduct daily chart and billing audits as needed and follow up appropriately for training needs;
· Maintain direct responsibility of Front Office monies, including taking deposits to the bank;
· Identify and implement process improvement opportunities for the Patient Access team in conjunction with other supervisory positions/team members;
· Maintain a working knowledge of processes and procedures in order to help manage the day-to-day functions of the clinic;
· Assist with addressing, documenting, and follow up for any patient concerns;
· Maintain working knowledge of all Patient Access duties;
· Provide coverage for Patient Access personnel when needed;
· Process incoming and outgoing mail appropriately;
· Assist Clinic Manager with insurance credentialing and renewals;
· Oversee Hospital Case management for Pediatric Dentist;
· Order office supplies including paper, postage, etc.
· Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
· Education Requirement: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred;
· Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred;
· Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting preferred;
· Strong computer skills/experience required, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Programs and Electronic Patient Record systems;
· Ability to multi-task, while maintaining a “patient first” approach;
· Strong telephone skills, with pleasant personality and speaking voice;
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain long-standing, professional relationships with employees and patients;
· Ability to easily relate to diverse populations;
Physical Requirements/Functions:
Anticipated hours per week: 40
· Frequent lifting and carrying weights ranging from zero to 50 pounds.
· Minimal bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping, frequent standing, minimal climbing and reaching above shoulder height.
· Good vision and hearing, ability to communicate/understand and perform job duties.
· Ability to be mobile throughout required work areas, including within network and community events.
· Working from home is allowed as needed.
Mental Requirements:
This position requires the mental capabilities to learn, comprehend, and communicate both orally and in writing. Independent decision making and problem-solving abilities are required to coordinate events and recruit and manage volunteers. Logical thinking, the ability to manage multiple tasks and accomplish them on time.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
