We primarily provide service supplemental staffing services to school districts and charter schools, hospitals, community mental health centers, outpatient treatment facilities, and residential homes.Job DescriptionPrimary responsibilities is to facilitate nursing activities for the agency by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation, and effectively interacts with staff and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.Specific Responsibilities Include:1. Monitors level of prescription medication available to clients2. Coordinates psychiatric face-to-face consultations with clients as follows: (a) ascertain that all charts are available and (b) provide clinical feedback to psychiatrist3. Orders prescriptions from pharmacy4. Receives prescriptions from pharmacy5. Delivers prescriptions to residential clients6. Receives, reviews, records, and executes physician’s orders7. Maintains medication logs and document necessary changes in dosage as per physician orders in day program as well as in residential program8. Administers and performs other nursing procedures as per physician orders9. Conducts medication education and training sessions for staff and clients twice yearly; more frequently, if necessary. When new staff is employed within residential program, medication orientation must be provided to them during the first week of employment.10. Coordinates laboratory testing services as follows: (a) identify clients in need of laboratory testing, (b) prepare laboratory slips to request testing services, (c) receive and evaluate laboratory testing results, (d) document results accordingly11. Performs Pre-Admission Screening functions12. Performs the admission and discharge nursing assessment on assigned patients, including appropriate and timely charting and filing13. Conducts and records health assessment screening on all admissions14. Participates in multi-disciplinary staffing and clinical team meetings15. Provides consultation to staff and clients about medical questions and/or concerns and assist staff in planning and implementing appropriate medical interventions16. Accompanies staff to physician’s appointments for program participants who are identified as being high-risk behaviorally and/or medically17. Monitors client vital signs during weekly rounds18. Documents all activities on required documents19. Attends training programs to improve and update professional skills20. Locks up all medication for clients at all times; medication must never be left unsupervised on desks at any time21. Perform other duties as assigned22.
