Dellwood Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care is Hiring a Resident Assistant Near Saint Paul, MN
Dellwood Gardens, a 101-unit assisted living and memory care community in St. Paul, MN, is now hiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for full-time and part-time day, evening, and on-call positions.
Dellwood Gardens is located adjacent to Swede Hollow Park and Mississippi Market. The community’s generous garden space is part of our mission to provide a therapeutic natural environment in an urban setting. Fruits and vegetables grown in our gardens are prepared and served to residents at meal times when in season.
Qualified individuals will enjoy working with older adults and possess the ability to multitask and manage their time well, all while demonstrating highest-quality customer service centered around Dellwood Gardens’ core values of Care, Compassion, Culture and Dignity.
Statement on Covid-19:
Dellwood Gardens holds the health and wellbeing of our residents and staff in the highest regard. PPE is provided for all staff and is required to be worn while in the building.
Infection control and prevention protocol is practiced daily at Dellwood Gardens in order to ensure the health and safety of all residents and staff. Vaccines are available for all residents and staff.
All persons entering the building are screened, including at the start of each staff member’s shift. Dellwood Gardens strictly follows the guidelines and protocols put forth by MDH and the CDC, including scheduled onsite testing as deemed necessary per state and federal protocol.
Requirements:
- Current, active CNA/NAR registration in the state of Minnesota.
- High School diploma or GED and/or same or similar previous work experience.
- 1 year experience in an assisted living setting.
- 1 year experience with medication administration.
- PPE is provided and all staff are required to adhere to proper use of PPE.
Preferences:
- 1 year experience as a CNA in assisted living and memory care.
- Experience and interest in caring for residents with behavioral and/or physical health challenges.
Key responsibilities:
- Medication administration
- Provide personal and direct care to residents: assist residents with activities of daily living in alignment with each resident service agreement (including, but not limited to, dressing, showering, grooming, toilet assistance and escorting)
- Assist residents with daily room tidyness and light housekeeping
- Promote independence, not dependence, with residents by offering choices and fostering self-help skills
- Encourage, gather and/ or escort residents to participate in scheduled activity programming
- Carry and utilize a communicator (walkie-talkie) effectively
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other Dellwood Gardens team members, families, visitors, and leadership staff
- Provide back up to other staff as needed to ensure 24 hours staffing
- Communicate information regarding resident care needs and changes to the team
- Document and report status of residents' wellbeing, changes in resident health status, incident reporting, etc.
- Understand and adhere to the Vulernable Adult and abuse polices, Resident Bill of Rights, and HIPAA
Wages and benefits:
- Wages commensurate with experience and certification status and range from $19.00 to $23.50 per hour.
- A comprehensive benefits package is available to full-time staff after the waiting period.
- All staff have the ability to earn PTO.
