Ski perks (vary based on employment status) may include Deer Valley season pass, free skiing or riding at other Alterra Resorts and select local Utah resorts Friends and family ski discounts, free staff ski lessons and discounted rentals (winter staff only) Subsidized meals at Employee Dining Rooms offered for staff while on shift Subsidized housing options available for seasonal full-time staff Discounts for staff members at restaurants, shops, and service providers in Park City Healthcare options are available for staff members 401k plan with company match POSITION SUMMARY The Revenue Manager has the responsibility for maximizing overall lodging revenue and gaining market share through the development, implementation and management of effective inventory and pricing strategies in all distribution channels based on demand and competitor analysis. The Revenue Manager plays a key analytical role in helping to maximize the revenue of all revenue-producing products offered by the resort, reporting to the Director of Revenue Management. Responsible for the analysis of pricing, selling strategies, and metrics to identify trends and opportunities as well as working with other departments within Deer Valley Resort to make informed decisions based on analytics to grow revenue and increase profitability. This position will have responsibility for weekly reporting in lift ticket and lodging divisions to guide pricing and inventory changes relative to supply and demand. This position is not remote and requires relocation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES General Responsibilities Develops top-line lodging room revenue budget by segment, accurately prepares weekly and long-range lodging forecasts with guidance from the Director of Revenue Management and other key stakeholders. Works closely with Director of Revenue Management, V.P. of Lodging, V.P. of Marketing, and Hotel GMs to develop, implement, and analyze pricing, inventory and sales strategies for all market segments and distribution channels. Builds and manages, on a daily basis, rates, inventory and restrictions for rooms and products in all distribution channels and inventory systems Maetsro, Inntopia, SynXis, Extranets, etc.) at least 12 months out. Analyzes current and proposed pricing, yield management strategies and performance metrics to ensure that revenue and profitability targets are achieved. Manages the revenue management system (Duetto), optimizing rate and sales strategies, including rates, length of stay requirements, inventory management, etc. based on collaboration with the Director of Revenue Management. Regularly updates lift ticket product pricing, selling strategies, product configuration, etc. based on guidance from the Director of Revenue Management. Provides critical input to marketing and sales leaders for development of property and overall market sales strategy and provides targeted and timely communication of results, achievements and challenges to the stakeholders. Assists the sales leaders in setting accurate account and revenue goals for business units resort wide, setting group ceiling recommendations and other group selling strategies and preparing displacement analysis for group business. Conducts Revenue Management Meetings, meets weekly with GMs, and participates in Sales Meetings and Shares best Revenue Management practices with peers and other departments. Evaluates all current reporting, develops new reports, and produces regular reports in a timely way as defined by the Revenue Management, Hospitality, and core business departments. Understands both the local and corporate database structure to retrieve appropriate data to analyze. Uses productivity software (Excel), business intelligence applications (Microsoft Power BI), complex spreadsheets and analytical tools to analyze trends, future need periods, opportunities and communicate recommendations to appropriate stakeholders to accomplish brand/market objectives and initiatives conforming to the company’s business goal. Research competitive offering in other ski-related products. Provides critical input for development of overall strategy for multiple business units and provides targeted and timely communication of results, achievements, and challenges to the stakeholders. Works closely with other functions: marketing, business operations, website operations, call center, hospitality, finance, and operations to make informed decisions using analytics. Works closely with Director of Revenue Management to develop, implement and analyze pricing, inventory and sales strategies for all market segments and distribution channels. Plays key role in understanding the resort’s pricing and packaging strategy and how that strategy can be implemented via the use of our existing and new systems. Continually review existing reporting and analytics to ensure metrics are meaningful, relevant, efficient, and instill executive-level confidence in the central Revenue Management process. Develops and oversees processes associated with demand, revenue, inventory, forecasting and opportunity analysis. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Excellent understanding of Revenue/Yield Management Concepts required. Experience creating detailed Excel models, and experience building out PowerPoint presentations required. 2-3 years revenue management experience required. Communication: Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization. Able to effectively present information to management, employees, and customers. Organization: Demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manages resources and time. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks. Highly developed analytical reasoning skills. Reasoning Ability: Able to make independent judgments which have considerable impacts on the organization. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Advanced knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access). Experience with property management systems, revenue management systems, and distributions systems required. Tableau and PowerBI experience preferred. Relevant experience in hospitality or mountain resort industries preferred. Experience with the revenue management and pricing process for unique products required. Experience developing, pricing, and creating marketing strategies for new products required. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree required. Undergraduate degree or coursework in Business Data Analysis, Statistics, Finance, Strategy or Economics preferred. Previous experience within the travel or ski industry preferred. The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
