Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring an experienced and qualified Registered Dental Hygienist to work for a renowned hospital in Houston, TX (Texas Medical Center).

Dental Hygienists perform dental prophylactic services under supervision of a dentist and conducts educational programs for the prevention and control of dental diseases. Impacts patient dental care by applying the methods and techniques used in cleaning and caring for teeth and for teaching proper care of teeth and gums. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Removes accumulated tartar, deposits, accretions or stains, except mottled enamel stains from the natural and restored surfaces of teeth. Frees gingival attachment in the mouth and polishes tooth surfaces. 
• Exposes and develops radiographs. 
• Flosses the teeth, makes preliminary inspection of the mouth and teeth and charts the findings. 
• Gives preventive treatments, such as topical application drugs to surface tissue and to exposed surfaces of teeth.
• Places or removes celluloid or plastic strips between teeth for subsequent placement of filling by the dentist. 
• Makes dental plaque and oral mucosa smears. 
• On direct order by dentist may place or remove rubber dam; remove sutures; insert or remove temporary medicinal fillings with hand instruments; insert or remove socket dressings; and place or remove periodontal pack. 
• Advises patients on proper home care and treatment of teeth and gums. 
• Maintains records of services rendered. 
• Presents group instructions and demonstrations in the proper methods of brushing and caring for teeth and gums, primarily in area schools. Performs dental x-rays as needed. 

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Required.

Experience Required: 5-7 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist

Experience Preferred: EPIC experience

Licensure/Certification Required Registered Dental Hygienist with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners 

Oncology experience and familiarity with dental treatment plan authorizations is highly preferred.

Strong adult population, Electronic Health Records (data entry) is experience is required.

Job Details:

• Schedule-Full time-Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm
• Salary- $45/hour (based on experience)
