Cultivation Manager

Our Cultivation Manager is primarily responsible for monitoring, tracking, and reporting the day-to-day cultivation activities with direction from the General Manager and Vice President of Cultivation. Our manager will support with maintaining the established cultivation schedule and completion of tasks.

Your role in caring for our company:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure weekly cloning and transplanting schedules are executed on time on a weekly basis
  • Oversee and implements weekly IPM program
  • Oversee and executes fertilizer stock tank changes
  • Responsible for collecting and sending fertilizer water samples
  • Actively scout for pests and deficiencies and reports findings to Vice President of Cultivation and General Manager
  • Assess the environment to ensure that humidity, temperature and light are at optimal levels for cultivation process
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain irrigation equipment including routine upkeep and performs minor corrective repair work
  • Report all equipment, technical, or workload problems immediately to General Manager
  • Maintain cultivation environment by cleaning and sanitizing workspace on a daily basis
  • Responsible for the strategic defoliation of plants weekly
  • Develop basic knowledge of strain characteristics and performs daily quality assessment of plants
  • Create cultivation staff schedule and assigns individual duties. In the event of staff absence, revises schedule and requests support from other departments as needed.
  • Maintain inventory spreadsheet of all cultivation materials and initiates and approves new orders as needed
  • Organize and manages cultivation storage spaces
  • Addresses low performance quickly, compassionately, and in alignment with company policies.
  • Collaborates effectively with Human Resources and appropriate partners
  • Retains and develops top performers by understanding individuals motivations and providing actionable feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications we ask you to have:

  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • You will be asked to pass a drug screen following procedures set forth in COMAR 17.04.09.04-.08.
  • We ask that you have at least a high school diploma/GED.
  • We do ask that you have a minimum of one year management experience.

  • This position requires an inordinate amount of sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting and reaching in full range of motion to complete physical tasks
  • Must be capable of sitting for extended periods of time, lift objects on a regular basis, and perform daily repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • As this is a cannabis growing facility, there will be strong odors, bright lights, and various noises throughout the workday.
  • Employees are asked to wear scrubs, masks, gloves, and hairnets while working with the plants. DCM will provide scrubs, gloves, and hair nets to all employees.
