We’re looking for a full-time, staff Structural Designer IV to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in either Greenville, SC or Charlotte, NC (Hybrid Remote).
As the Structural Designer IV, here’s the work you’ll do:
With minimal instruction, prepare structural designs in a 3D modelling (CAD/BIM) environment and extract a complete set of 2D construction drawings for foundations, concrete, and steel structures on various sized projects. Utilize your complete understanding of design standards, software and associated design documents for assigned projects. Support development of departmental drafting standards. Experience in Civil design a plus, creating grading, stormwater and erosion control plans.
  • Provide design drawings, modeling, layout, and checking of deliverables utilizing CAD systems including 3D design tools.
  • Monitor design and drafting work of CAD personnel and coordinate with other disciplines, as necessary.
  • Interpret and apply applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications.
  • Provide schedule for work assignments.
  • Develop departmental drafting standards.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • CAD and 3D design proficient (AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Sound understanding of engineering terminology and industry practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications.
  • Complete understanding of design and associated design documents for each assigned project.
  • Working knowledge of different types of industrial equipment such as tanks, skids and pressure vessels and how the structural discipline interfaces with the equipment such as platforming, supports, anchorage, etc.
  • Sound knowledge of Estimating/Budgeting, planning and Scheduling a plus.
  • Experience in Civil design a plus; creating grading, stormwater and erosion control plans.
And if you have these qualifications:
  • Associate Technical Degree or equivalent training in design and Drafting (preferred)
  • 15 years of relevant experience.
  • AutoCAD and 3D modeling, Revit required, Tekla preferred.
  • Civil design experience is a plus.
  • US Citizenship
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $92,480 - $138,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
