- Wages: New Hires: Entry level rate $12.47/hr.; Current employees in the bargaining unit: Please refer to the salary schedule established by the applicable bargaining group
- Will work collaboratively with teachers in MTSS to assist in the success of all students
- Will teach, model, and support PBIS in all building situations
- Will work with students in skills room
- Ability to work with ALL students
- Computer skills are necessary to input data into student data system and manipulate spreadsheets
- With classroom teachers, establish a positive learning environment while maintaining a structured setting
- Assist with and support classroom teacher with instruction
- Work collaboratively with teachers using developmentally appropriate practices, including following teacher’s direction for instruction
- Assist teacher in monitoring students’ progress by keeping necessary records and giving feedback as requested
- Willingness to work with students in a positive manner that will help develop and/or enhance the practice of self-discipline. Applicant should have the ability to resolve conflicts. Must be able to communicate and relate to students in a non-threatening and friendly manner.
- Maintain patience and positive interpersonal skills with all students.
- Walk hallways during class time and/or during passing time, reporting any issues to office staff
- Communicate with instructional staff daily regarding instruction and student issues
- Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each student reaches his/her full potential
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully
- Skilled, understands and utilizes MTSS or willingness to be trained/knowledgeable
- Skilled, understands and utilizes PBIS or willingness to be trained/knowledgeable
- Other duties as assigned by building administrator
- Ability to lift fifty pounds and walk extended distances. Ability to bend, squat and kneel in order to work with young children.
- Must be physically able to walk the building (stairs included) and general campus on a routine daily basis.
- Ability to work with students on academic, social, behavior, and life skills. Have a friendly, caring personality.
- Basic computer knowledge and typing skills necessary. Ability to follow directions and work with a variety of people.
- Previous school experience desired. Organizational abilities to handle a variety of duties
- Personal qualities should include ability to nurture, good attendance, patience, dependability, ability to accept responsibility and initiate student activities. Be sensitive to needs of all students.
- Recognition of the need for confidentiality with respect to children's and parents' right to privacy.
