Ability to teach Language Arts Curriculum, Grades 7-8
Ability to use Cooperative Learning Strategies
Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies to match student learning styles
Ability to work in a teaming environment
Ability to work and teach a diverse student population
Possess competence in computer and technology skills
Implement cooperative learning strategies
Actively participate in Collaborative Teaching Teams
Use data to make instructional decisions
Be willing to participate in district and building-wide initiatives, to include CTT's, MTSS, PBIS, CRVP, district/building staff development and district literacy
Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
Understand or willing to be trained in the PLC process, PBIS, and standards-based grading
Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
Must be willing to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics
Skilled, understands and utilizes MTSS or willingness to be trained/knowledgeable
Skilled, understands and utilizes PBIS or willingness to be trained/knowledgeable
