Ability to teach the social studies curriculum 7-8
This position also includes Computer Apps, Design Your Life and Learning Supports courses.
Implement Davenport Community School District curriculum for each course.
Will participate fully as a productive CTT and Grade Level team member.
Implement building and district middle level initiatives.
Expert knowledge of all G-Suite applications (docs, slides, sheets, sites, draw, etc.) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to design or find/modify activities and materials for digital citizenship and financial literacy
Ability to design project-based learning activities and materials around the Iowa Core 21st Century Skills (technology, financial literacy, employability skills)
Ability to prescribe, utilize and support Web 2.0 applications for classroom use. (i.e. Pear Deck, Kahoot, Adobe Spark, Google Applied Digital Skills, Khan Academy, Code.org, Typing.com, Teach Banzai, Everfi, etc.)
Ability to differentiate instruction for a wide range of student abilities and manage learning with students at different levels.
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and effectively communicate those objectives to students.
Identify students’ needs and make appropriate referrals Demonstrate effective communication with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Serve as a Teacher Advisor daily.
Able to implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of a diverse learning community.
Ability to establish a positive learning environment.
Provide individual and small group research-based instruction designed to meet individual needs of students based upon data that promotes academic, social and emotional growth.
Other duties as assigned by administrator
Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
