Davenport Community Schools is Hiring a Kindergarten – 1.0 FTE Near Davenport, IA
- JobID: 9471
- Share and work effectively as a member of a grade level team; planning lessons, monitoring progress, analyzing assessment data, providing differentiated lessons, and modifying instruction.
- Participate in CTT process and IEP meetings
- Establish and maintain high standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a structured, positive learning environment as implemented by PBIS
- Maintain high expectations for academic standards for all students
- Follow the District's prescribed curricula for all subjects
- Encourage parental involvement
- Be involved in activities beyond the school day
- Be willing to teach all subjects and collaborate with colleagues
- Be computer literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lexia, ST Math, Outlook, GoogleDrive and using age-appropriate websites
- Implement research-based teaching strategies in core instruction and during interventions and enrichment.
- Be an active participant in all district and building level staff development
- Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
- Must be willing to support and implement Davenport’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.
- Endorsement Required: [100] or [102] or [103] or[106]
- Ability to work with students on the floor with smaller furniture
- Must be able to stand for a period of time
- Must be able to walk for extended period of time
- Must be able to lift/pull/push 50 lbs
- Willing to be involved in extended day learning activities including summer learning offerings
- Value the diversity of students and reflect this in teaching and disciplinary strategies
- Have the appropriate endorsement to teach at the elementary level
