Position Summary: Join a department of seven full-time dedicated finance and administration professionals who support the work of hundreds of other fellow employees, contractors, vendors, renters, and artists working out of the historic and nearly century-old Music Hall at Fair Park. As one of the region’s leading nonprofit arts organizations, Broadway Dallas presents hundreds of touring Broadway musical performances and dozens of concert, spoken word, and other events at the Music Hall in addition to its growing education and community work in classrooms, community centers, and in-homes throughout North Texas and beyond. This senior accountant role works closely with Broadway Dallas’ fundraising department and venue rentals team to ensure accurate management and reporting of individual and corporate/foundation giving as well as income associated with rental events like concerts and standup comedy. The position is responsible for analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts in addition to completing various month-end accounting duties.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Post and analyze weekly fundraising contribution activity reports
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Oversee all in-kind donation activity and recording
• Record EFT’s and bank deposits
• Manage setup and filing of new rental customers in accounting system
• Review and record rental payments in customer accounts
• Promptly review ticketed event settlements and reconcile balances
• Prepare and analyze selected monthly departmental reports
• Review assigned general ledger accounts and record adjusting journal entries accordingly
• Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations
• Analyze intercompany transactions and reconcile report with appropriate journal entries
• Post monthly accruals and assigned journal entries
• Assist with audit documentation and schedules
• Adhere to rental event and monthly closing deadlines
• Assist with accounts receivable functions on backup basis
• Assist with fixed assets, payroll, accounts payable, and deferred revenue as needed
• Will cross-train with current senior accountant
• Supporting month-end and year-end close
• Assist with budget preparation
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Four-year college degree or higher preferably in accounting or finance
• 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting and reconciliation
Preferred Skills:
• Proficient in Oracle NetSuite
• Familiarity with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT
• Experience in development, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with knowledge of vlookup, pivot tables and data manipulation with multiple file formats
• Demonstrated financial analysis, organization, and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and communicate effectively
• Demonstrated experience with both nonprofit 501(c)(3) and for-profit business accounting
