Brief DescriptionActs as a lead auditor and an official liaison for assigned responsibilities county-wide for financial, statutory and ad-hoc audits of all County departments, contracts and policies; resolves complex audit or accounting issues; performs special projects and audits of a sensitive or critical nature; and prepares various reports. Management Scope: Assists in training and supervising audit staff.

Detailed DescriptionParticipates in a lead role in conducting financial and/or contractual compliance audits, reviews staff audit work and assists in the preparation of audit reports. Serves as a troubleshooter in assisting staff in identifying and resolving audit issues, including statutory, policy and contractual questions. Acts as a technical expert, trainer and mentor to audit staff and others in resolving procedural issues, and recommends staff scheduling and audit program revisions. Performs special projects and audits of sensitive or critical nature. Communicates audit issues and provides fiscal information and assistance to administrative departments when needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job RequirementsEducation and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or in a job related field of study. Three (3) years of work related experience. Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Must possess strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Requires thorough knowledge of the Single Audit Act and OMB circulars. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. Standard office environment. May be required to complete work off-site.
