Dale Howard Auto Center is Hiring an Automotive Sales Professional Near Waverly, IA

Purpose of the Position:

The Automotive Sales Professional helps guide customers on their path to purchase or lease to acquire a new or pre-owned vehicle, while maintaining Dealership standards for volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction. The primary function of the Product Specialist is to provide customers the information they need in order to make an informed decision when it comes to selecting their next vehicle. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Help People Buy Vehicles
  • CEO (Chief Executing Officer) of the Exceptional Customer Buying Experience
  • Responsible for Product Knowledge
  • Path to Purchase - Known by All, Followed by All
  • Creating Connections - Customer Engagement / Follow up
  • Lot Management / Inventory Knowledge

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide outstanding customer service and add value for our guests
  • Build value in our people and our processes for the customer
  • Learn and execute our Path to Purchase with all customers to provide them with an exceptional customer experience
  • Develop product knowledge with all of the vehicle lines and models that we offer to be able to assist customers with their vehicle selection
  • Be familiar with current, inbound, and potential incoming inventory as to be able to provide customers effective options on their path to purchase 
  • Follow established Dealership follow up practices with existing, current and prospective customers to ensure we are adding value for our clients
  • Attends and participates in development and training activities with other Sales Team members
  • Research and participate in training and development opportunities from manufacturers and other sources to continue to develop skills and knowledge to enable us to add value for our guests
  • Utilize the tools and technology provided by the Dealership to track customers and activities to set us up for the best chance for success
  • Set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals based on desired sales activity and create an activity plan to achieve those goals
  • Be proactive in seeking new opportunities through prospecting and referrals
  • Meet/exceed minimum established Dealership guidelines for daily activity
  • Assist with customer concerns and connect with appropriate department / individual best suited to address / resolve the issue
  • Handle inbound phone call and internet lead opportunities
  • Other tasks as assigned

Daily Tasks:

  • Assist Sales Managers and other Sales Team members as needed to help provide outstanding customer service
  • Follow established Dealership follow up practices
  • Assist Sales Team members to ensure the vehicle display area looks neat, orderly and professional
  • Keeps personal work space neat and orderly to provide a professional customer experience
  • Maintains professional appearance

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Clean driving record with valid driver’s license
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
