Dakotaland Manufacturing is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Sioux Falls, SD

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Human Resources department by assisting in talent acquisition and recruitment processes, administering compensation and benefit plans, conducting employee onboarding and helping with training and development. Human Resources Generalist must share Dakotaland Mfg. values and must support and promote the company Vision, Mission and Values, using UPSCALE as the foundation always.

Essential Functions

  • Administer compensation and benefit plans
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training and development initiatives
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, discipline, performance evaluations etc)
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leave, compensation, timekeeping and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data
  • Undertake tasks to support performance management
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, attend weekly Level 10
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
  • Maintains confidential human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases, tracking vacation, sick, and personal time.
  • Documents human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. Networks with LATI and SHRM in Watertown / Sioux Falls where appropriate.

Education & TRAINING requirements

  •  bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 – 5 years of human resource experience preferred.

Work experience requirements

  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee information.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point is essential; HRIS systems knowledge will be a plus
  • Exhibit extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, and flexibility
  • Additional experience conducting training would be a plus
